Hind meiN jamhooriyat ke saath saal
Ahd e nau meiN aaj haiN ek nek phaal

Hai DarakhshaaN is ka maazi aur haal
Is ki azmat ke nishaaN hain la zawaal

Hai jahaaN bhi aaj jamhoori nizaam
Dete haiN ahl e nazar is ki misaal

In guzashtah saath saaloN meiN yahaaN
Fikr o fun ka baar aawar hai nehaal

Hai yeh aqsaa e jahaaN meiN sar buland
KyoN na haasil ho ise auj e kamaal

IT meiN yeh sar e fihrist hai
Jo hai fikr o fun ka dilkash ittesaal

Dekh kar ahl e nazar haiN dam bakhud
Is ki tahzeebi rawaayat ka jalaal

Is ke haiN fitri manazir dilfareb
Hai yeh ek mashshatah e husn o Jamaal

Hai dua meri basad ijz o neyaaz
HooN na yeh jamhoori qadreiN paimaal

Amn e aalam ka ho yeh Barqi naqeeb
Is ko haasil ho urooj e la zawaal

Dr. Ahmad Ali 'Barqi' Azmi is an eminent Urdu broadcaster and poet. He has been working with the All India Radio for more than three decades. His father, Mr. Rehmat Ali Barq was an well-known poet and belonged to the Dabistan-e-Dagh. Barqi is a poet of international fame, known mainly for his prowess to compose verses on the spot (Filbadeeh poetry). Rooh-e-Sukhan is his first collection of poetry.
