Dr.AHMAD ALI BARQI AZMI

Hai uski fitrat mein bewafaaii woh jab bhi milta hai be rukhi se
Pasand hai usko khud numaaii lagao usko nahin kisi se

Woh baitha rahta hai yunhi gum sum main dekhta hoon yeh bebasi se
Kahoon to kise kahoon yeh us se raha kare woh hansi khushi se

Woh pahle aisa kabhi nahin thaa na jane kya ho gaya hai usko
Kisi ne kuchh kah diya hai shayad woh mujh se hai badgumaan tabhi se

Beghair uske bujha bujha hai bahaar ka khushgawar manzar
Gaya hai naraz ho ke jab se woh mere gulzar e zindagi se

Sab usko hairat se dekhte hain yeh haal hai uska dars e ibrat
Yahi hai anjam e ishq BARQI to baaz aaye ham aashiqi se

Wahi samajhte hain qadr o qeemat jahaan mein aijaz e fikr o fan ki
Jo asr e haazir mein bahrah war hain shaoor o faizan e aagahi se

Dr. Ahmad Ali 'Barqi' Azmi is an eminent Urdu broadcaster and poet. He has been working with the All India Radio for more than three decades. His father, Mr. Rehmat Ali Barq was an well-known poet and belonged to the Dabistan-e-Dagh. Barqi is a poet of international fame, known mainly for his prowess to compose verses on the spot (Filbadeeh poetry). Rooh-e-Sukhan is his first collection of poetry.
