Taswur mein tere kuche ki jab tasveer hoti hai

Meri nazron mein sair e wadi e Kashmir hoti hai

Suni tareef main neb hi hai yun to chashm e aahoo ki

Magar woh aankh kya kahiye jo aahoogir hoti hai

Ba’asaani bana leti hai beganon ko bhi apna

Mohabbat mein bala ki quaat e taskhir hoti hai

Koi kahta hai suuraj aur koi kahta hai chand usko

Kitaab e rukh ki bhi kya kya bayaan tafseer hoti hai

Ghazal pahle hadees e dilbari thi lekin ab is mein

Bayan nau e basher ke khwab ki taabir hoti hai

Junoon e intehaa e shauq mein Ahmad Ali Barqi

Jidhar jaao udhar wahshat garibaangir hoti hai



Dr. Ahmad Ali 'Barqi' Azmi is an eminent Urdu broadcaster and poet. He has been working with the All India Radio for more than three decades. His father, Mr. Rehmat Ali Barq was an well-known poet and belonged to the Dabistan-e-Dagh. Barqi is a poet of international fame, known mainly for his prowess to compose verses on the spot (Filbadeeh poetry). Rooh-e-Sukhan is his first collection of poetry.
