Sata lein hamko dilchaspi jo hai unko satane mein
Hamara kya woh ho jayeinge ruswa khud zamane mein
Ladayegi meri tadbir ab taqdeer se panja
Natija chahe jo kuchh ho muqaddar aazmane mein
Jise bhi dekhiye hai gardish e haalaat se naalaan
Sukoon e dil nahin hasil kisi ko bhi zamane mein
Who gulchin ho ki bijli sab ki aankhon mein khatakte hain
Yahi do char tinke jo hain mere aashiyane mein
Hai kuchh logon ki khaslat nau e insaan ki dilaazaari
Maza milta hai unko doosron ka dil dukhane mein
Ajab dastoor e duniya e mohabbat hai are tauba
Koi roone mein hai mashghool koie muskurane mein
Patingon ko jala Shma e mahfil sab koo aye BARQI
Dikhane ke liye masroof hai aansoo bahane mein

Dr. Ahmad Ali 'Barqi' Azmi is an eminent Urdu broadcaster and poet. He has been working with the All India Radio for more than three decades. His father, Mr. Rehmat Ali Barq was an well-known poet and belonged to the Dabistan-e-Dagh. Barqi is a poet of international fame, known mainly for his prowess to compose verses on the spot (Filbadeeh poetry). Rooh-e-Sukhan is his first collection of poetry.
